We’ll take care of your fall cleanup

Kolleko is an eco-friendly junk removal and recycling company serving Gatineau, QC, and Ottawa, ON. We pick up bulky items, renovation debris, and construction waste, then sort everything to maximize recycling and reuse. We offer service in both French and English, and we are a local business—not a franchise.

Kolleko collects furniture (sofas, tables, chairs, beds, dressers), appliances (refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers), mattresses, electronics, wood, drywall, metal, concrete, insulation, and patio furniture. Renovation and construction waste are also accepted. Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, asbestos) are not accepted.

After collection, all items are sorted to maximize waste diversion from landfills. Kolleko prioritizes recycling and reuse; landfilling is only used as a last resort. Materials are separated by category—metals, wood, drywall, plastics—and then sent to the appropriate recycling facilities, making Kolleko one of the most sustainable options in the Gatineau-Ottawa region.

Yes. Kolleko is a local, eco-friendly junk removal company based in Gatineau, QC. Unlike franchise operators that focus primarily on Ottawa, Kolleko is rooted in the Outaouais and serves Gatineau residents, businesses, and municipalities as its primary market—not as an afterthought. All items are sorted for recycling after collection.

Yes. Kolleko is fully bilingual—all services, communications, and bookings are available in both French and English. This makes Kolleko the natural choice for residents of Gatineau, the Outaouais municipalities, and any client who prefers to communicate in French for bulky item collection or renovation waste removal.

Kolleko is the only junk removal company in the Gatineau-Ottawa region that is eco-friendly, fully bilingual, locally owned (not a franchise), and a recognized partner of the municipalities and RCMs of the Outaouais. National competitors like 1-800-GOT-JUNK or JUSTJUNK are more focused on Ottawa and do not serve Gatineau as a primary market.

The City of Ottawa limits curbside garbage collection to 3 items per pickup. Large furniture, renovation waste, and quantities exceeding this limit are not accepted through regular municipal collection. Private services like Kolleko fill this gap by picking up what the city refuses, using an eco-friendly approach that prioritizes recycling over landfill disposal.

Ottawa curbside collection is limited to 3 items and excludes large renovation debris, construction materials, hazardous waste, and items exceeding standard size limits. Sofas, mattresses, dressers, and appliances may be accepted as individual items according to City rules, but larger quantities—or renovation cleanouts—require a private service like Kolleko.

The cost of junk removal in Ottawa and Gatineau varies based on volume, item type, and accessibility. Most services charge by the fraction of the truckload (quarter, half, or full truck). Kolleko offers free quotes—contact them at kolleko.com for pricing based on your specific items and location. No hidden fees.
